The Porky Punk Annual Manual
The Porky Punk Annual Manual is a wonderfully refreshing cookbook project. Eschewing the cult of celebrity, it instead celebrates the value that cooking as part of a community of like-minded food obsessives delivers.
With a foreword by one of the Porky Punk collective’s best-known members—TV chef, restaurateur and food writer Andi Oliver—the Annual Manual is divided into easy-to-navigate chapters, with 200+ pages featuring over 80 delicious recipes from professional chefs and amateurs alike from the Porky Punk’s global community that will appeal to cooks of all ages and skill levels. It is the first in a planned annual release schedule of such books.
Beyond the recipes, the stories and anecdotes shared within celebrate meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan fare, pickling, fermenting and preserving, the joys of growing your own veg, and even the wondrous healing properties of marijuana and magic mushrooms.
Rather than a traditional cookbook, the Annual Manual is a guide to healthy, connected and caring living. The book even provides its own soundtrack of musical selections from various Porky Punk members (some of them superstar DJs and producers in their own right) in the form of Spotify playlists and original DJ mixes.
The Annual Manual is a true community project that epitomises the idea that sharing is caring, put together by people who have enriched their lives not simply through the food they make and their increased connection to the natural world it comes from—but through the bond that breaking bread together as a community creates.
The book is available to pre-order so if you’d like one, now is the time to get involved by pre-ordering one today. Get it while it’s hot!
